Happy New Year

Hi Everyone!

I hope your holiday was enjoyable and relaxing. I can't believe that 2009 will be here in two days. The new year is bringing some exciting changes for me....

I just started my new position as the Program Director for The Little Gym of Smyrna! I am having a great time and can't wait to get back into the gym to teach class. I hope to see some familiar faces during the upcoming semester. Here is a link to the Smyrna schedule: http://www.thelittlegym.com/gym/schedule.aspx?gymid=162

Closing Up Shop

Hello and I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Me and my family and a wonderful time. We have been adopted by our friend's family and had a relaxing four days in Alabama. I think my friend's mom thought I was the turkey-by the way I was being stuffed! I had some true southern food that I would never have encountered otherwise. Yum.

This week I have been clearing out the gym and waiting for members to pick up the equipment they purchased. I was sad on Monday but as of today cleaning felt cathartic. I had seven bags full of paper and plastic to recycle! I'm sure that I will find about seven more before I am done.

I should have news soon about my new adventures!

Patience is a Virtue

The past two days have been very emotional for me. Having to do my announcements at the end of class has been killer. If any of you were in attendance on Thursday night you know what I mean. I told myself I wasn't going to cry and as soon as looked at two of my kids moms I totally lost it. It wasn't the streaming of tears cry either it was full on ugly cry face cry. That was rough.

I just love what I do so much. I am having to go through a grieving process that I never thought I would have to go through for a job! But I think that shows just how committed I am to my students. I become connected to them and want to them to succeed. Losing "my place" has been hard. I think this change has also been hard because my daughter's routine is being uprooted as well. We had to say goodbye to five of her MMO teachers this week and her friends too. I know that in a few weeks she is going to be wondering why she hasn't been to "school".

Since life is cyclical, I know that when some opportunities in life stop others present themselves. It is just a matter of me being patient enough to recognize those opportunities while making the best choice for my family. I know that is something everyone can relate to.

Pilates Mat Certified

I am officially Pilates Mat certified! I have been practicing Pilates since 1996 and have always wanted to be fully certified. I actually went through the beginning stages of certification way back in 2003. However, the entity that handled the certifications disintegrated and life changed for me in a great way: I was hired at the Program Director for The Little Gym of West Cobb! Now that the gym is closing I had to evaluate what I really want to do and my search brought me back to Pilates. I hope to continue my full certification starting in May 2009.

I am searching for clients and spaces to teach. If you know of any interested people or a space you think would work e-mail me. Thanks so much!
